Kingdoms are INHERENTLY oppressive examples of theocracy
Point taken on kingdoms, but in the same sense as SOCIETIES they were incredibly self-sustaining and tolerant. And it does mean something because he didn't say modern state...but oppressive is still subjective....as one could call America an oppressive state, the same for Soviet Russia, China, Japan and basically every nation on earth at some point.
On this we can actually agree, one major issue with religion is its claim to exclusivity when they all borrow from each other. To make anyone believe what you do by the sword is silly to me and virtually all major religions are guilty of this.
Ask for impossible examples, brehsWhat are non oppressive examples of theocracy?

I don't see what the issue is here.
You talk about islam and they move the discussion to Israel or the USA or aliens.
Then you talk about the Quran then they talk about real and justified faith and context and historical uses.
They're just all fukking liars and I have no patience for them.
Whats worse is that they use the same fukking tricks in every argument/thread.

Basically. With me there is none, I was merely answering the OP and providing more context.
Truly, there are none. Kingdoms operate under the belief that the monarch is somehow a descendant of God or divinely ordained by God. In order to solidify that, claim the manifest destiny often comes into play "God wills It" if you will. Very few monarchies or empires haven't slaughtered hundreds thousands of people in the name of a god or king.
if you knew the truth about your religion, you would abandon it immediately, especially if you are black
the role Christianity played in the development of Muhammad can be seen in
Volume 4, Book 55, Number 605:
Narrated 'Aisha:
The Prophet returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqa bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospels in Arabic Waraqa asked (the Prophet), "What do you see?" When he told him, Waraqa said, "That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet) Moses. Should I live till you receive the Divine Message, I will support you strongly."
And I will do everything in my power to make sure this never happens.
.

Basically.
hell, the UK is TECHNICALLY on paper a theocracy in the eyes of the anglican church.
ExactlyDo you realize what that is saying? it says that a Christian recognized the Prophet Muhammad as being the one mentioned in the gospels. thats all that says.
good luck breh![]()

OK...but this is 2014...its not 1945 man.The UK is one of the worst offenders along with the Kingdom of Spain. Not only did they run through the west with impunity, they "civilized" the natives and eradicated entire peoples with the notion that God owed them the land. India, Australia, the Americas, Africa...all places that were devistated by English manifest destiny
Beat me to it

I thought you were muslimProbably because most muslims aren't cacs.
Personally I have no problem with muslims. My ex was muslim and all the muslims I met were good people![]()

The second-largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12 years.
Some scholars see an emerging Muslim renaissance as Islam takes root in many traditionally Christian communities.
Islam has drawn converts from all walks of life, most notably African-Americans. Former NAACP President Benjamin Chavis, who joined the Nation of Islam recently, personifies the trend.
But most scholars argue that the extremists are a very small minority and that most Muslims adhere to principles in the Koran that teach peace and tolerance.
"The Islamic world is like any other society we have known in history," said Kazziha. "You might say it has the good, the bad and the ugly."
Founded in 622 A.D., Islam is among the newer major religions. But to the non-Muslim world, it sometimes appears inflexible. Clashes between Islamic tradition and Western influence are sweeping the globe.
