"Buzz" is a meaningless word. People could've been talking about how shytty the DC panel was, it's people talking about DC.

You get what I'm saying? Variety takes how many people were talking about it, not what they're saying. Which is why you have a situation where twice as many people were talking about "Superman V Batman", but 2x as many people actually said they wanted to see "Avengers 2". Why do you think that is? Because the DC movie had better fan reaction? That makes no sense.

Fred.
First of all, "buzz" is not a meaningless word. That's what this whole topic is about in the first place. We're discussing to see which company generated a bigger atmosphere of activity, which DC clearly did. Secondly, no one was talking about how "shytty" the DC panel was. Everything they presented from the picture of Wonder Woman, to their teaser was extremely well received. So your whole point about how the article points out "how many" ppl were responding, as opposed to "what they saying" is irrelevant b/c ppl were thrilled by the content DC was putting out. "Buzz" by definition means excited, which is exactly why the writer from Variety chose to use it. And DC had more buzz throughout comic con weekend.

Superman & Batman are number 1 & 2 in terms of popularity in the comic book world. Wonder Woman is Top 10 status so combine those factors together and add in the fact that these 3 characters have never been in a live action movie together then you'll realize why people care about BvS movie more than Marvel's upcoming movies

DC had the movie clip, posters, stronger TV presentation too

I would say the Saturday night with Arrow/Flash/Constantine/Gotham showcasing was stronger than SHIELD/Agent Carter for sure

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
the hate for marvel got nikkas scrambling for somebody else to win :sas1:

nah, marvel got the crown and the throne and aint goin no where:sas2:

That's what I'm saying. Marvel caught lightning in a bottle and now everyone else trying to do the same thing. Fox aint trying to compete with X-Men. They doing their own thing and moving at their own pace.

Saw this while browsing through Deadline today and it made me think of this thread:

So Who Comic-Conquered San Diego?

WARNER BROS: The best Comic-Con panels show fans things they’ve never seen before. From that standpoint, Warner Bros changed the game by making the Hall H experience seem larger. It turned the dark curtains covering 450 feet down the sides of the auditorium into a wraparound multimedia visual experience that left jaded geeks looking left and right in wonder at images that complemented the onstage presentation. Expect others to rip this off. For star power: Zack Snyder introduced his Batman v Superman stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Gal Gadot and offered glimpses of the film. Warner Bros also wowed with explosive footage from Mad Max: Fury Road, a film that looks like it could be the answer someday to this Trivial Pursuit question: What movie transformed Tom Hardy from a great actor into a big fukking movie star? Warner Bros also brought Middle Earth excitement to Hall H with a lengthy Hobbit: The Five Armies panel and footage that had LOTR fans aflutter.

MARVEL:
Marvel is always the must-see panel; not so much this year. Maybe it was DC Comics’ turn to shine, and maybe being a sequel factory imposes limits on the surprise front. They trotted out the superstar Avengers lineup — been there, done that! — with additions Josh Brolin, Aaron Johnson, and Elizabeth Olsen. No Black Widow Scarlett Johansson, who was busy bytch-slapping Hercules at the box office in the Luc Besson film Lucy. Footage was OK, but Kevin Feige set a high bar for himself in past Cons, and this year he couldn’t clear it. Ant-Man brought Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lilly (already knew they were in the movie), and plans for a Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel were greeted by a collective “Duh!’ Feige could have told us what movies will fill all those release dates he recently staked out. He didn’t. Better luck next year, Marvel Man.

What are you basing this on? By popularity you mean who people recognize or who people are willing to spend money on because those are two very different things. Batman ranks near the top in both but Superman and Wonder Woman dont.

A Batman movie/comic would be more popular than a Superman and Wonder Woman movie/comic, easily.

DC won cause even that 30 second Clip of "Batman v Superman" was more Epic than seeing The Avengers fighting some mindless robots (same of them fighting mindless aliens in part 1). When Batman eyes were glowing in the thunder and rain wearing that Atomic Bomb Defense Suit as well as the Bat Symbol and he looked up and saw those Red Lazer-Beam Supes eyes the whole comic book nation lost their breathe for a minute. I like Marvel and they have great characters but honesty nobody on The Avengers is more popular than Bats and Supes. Yes Iron Man blew up but even him ain't seeing those two. Ben is basically getting a pass just because he's in this Legendary team up film. I hope he doesn't mess it up. We know Henry can handle the Superman role. Also the Wonder Woman costume good or bad got a lot of talk and buzz.
