Much of southeast asia was colonized, in fact I believe only Thailand was independent.

But who isn't important, its why have the results differed.(unless you are saying southeast asia wasn't colonized)

If you are claiming(correct me if im wrong) that the poverty in African nations is due primarily to colonialism, why did other nations also colonialized by the same nations not share Africa's fate?

The bulk of Asian colonization took place much later.

And I reiterate "citizens developed or reestablished the nation-states, not Britain-France-USA "

[/QUOTE]

1. Trade is a sign of a developed society so yes

2. West African slavery was more akin to indentured servitude so no

3. This doesn't even make sense

:whoa: I don't think its the fault of the Africans either.
I belive it's the fault of Africans in 2014

But no doubt colonization was at fault in the early years but now there is no excuse.
if an Africa leader can amass wealth and assets over a billion dollars....then something is wrong.

I'm not sure this is true...
Colonies were established in India in Chandernagore (1673) and Pondichéry in the south east (1674), and later at Yanam (1723), Mahe (1725), and Karikal (1739) (see French India). Colonies were also founded in the Indian Ocean, on the Île de Bourbon (Réunion, 1664), Isle de France (Mauritius, 1718), and the Seychelles (1756).

But you are certainly more knowledgeable on the topic so I don't want to argue that point, my question, is why have results differed?:ld:

What was it about African colonialism specifically that you attribute to the poverty in the region now?

It may shock you but I chose my own destiny on what I wanted to be..
c00ning is a choice...

and i remember you in an old thread bashing the homie mugabe as being the main problem with zimbabwe. he's not the biggest problem. great rulers like genghis khan ruled for a while too and put a foot in the opposition's ass..

if the west left mugabe alone they'd be doing just fine. but they keep zimbabwe down as an example for the rest of the other countries. cause if they left zimbabwe alone and she flourished the other countries would smarten up.

1,2) well the point is the question was asked why are black people poor, this is a minor reason for it also, but black people come from a slave society, even if it was so called indentured servitiude, it was still a society were slavery was acceptable

3) our ancestors, the people that suffered and died through middle passage and through the slave caravans through the sahara, would not accept that reasoning if they were still here and they would kill and spit in the face of the africans that sold them to arabs and europeans, describing the africans that sold our ancestors into slavery as moral and intelligent ........... is interesting, but its not surprising, it goes along with all the other gibberish and retarded things youve been saying through this thread

I speak from experience...I have lived in Ghana, Nigeria (Lagos to be exact) and South Africa.

I also traveled North Africa with my father ...I have said it may times

Zimbabwe used to be the envy of Africa not many years ago...they were rich as fukk and food was abundant.

Well Mugabe kicked out the people who grew the food and also brought money into the local economy....now it's a shythole.

Don't give me that sanctions nonsense. South Africa were in a similar situation but they came out on top.

Mugabe is what's wrong with Zimbabwe

1. that is basically irrelevant as to why Europeans were welcomed

2. This is yet another half-truth and irrelevant point

:umad:I said im not arguing the point, you are more knowledgeable.

I want to know why results differed?

Is your answers resources? what do you mean by "markets"? :ld:

People mostly

And India was a country with an identity pre-colonization. Most African nations are artificial states.
