the unifying force of the catholic church alone accounted for a lot of the strength of europeans, just like islam was a powerful force becuase it united people that may not have normally be united
africa has never had a unifying religion, so the europeans having one religion helped them
on top of that europe had dozens of kingdoms
and the modern financial system began in the 1400's

You have yet to name all these institutions, besides banking, that did not exist in Africa. And banking was obviously not why colonization was succesful.
