I was scanning this thread, and the title literally popped at me like a st0rmfr0nt thread. I bet they're linked here. Then having black men confirm stereotypical eurocentric assumptions (shyt in someones kitchen then talk about how shytty said kitchen is) is embarrassing. "see the ******s know they're useless themselves" as you regurgitate the lies you've learned from them over the century. while not fully understanding the corporate and political control 'powers that be' have on african resources aka their form of income. in the modern world literacy is one of the most fundamental factors that determine a nations wealth, because in the modern world wealth is not real, wealth is abstract, money exists on paper and in computers, in today's world you cannot transfer wealth to an illiterate society
im not disputing that white people murdered, oppressed, colonized and ensalved blacks and that has an impact today, im disputing the notion that that s where are problems started, our problems started when we allowed the european to get ahead of us technologically and develop systems that we could not compete with, and the weaknesses you see in africa and in the african diaspora (like illiteracy, lack of strong institutions, lack of networks) existed before the europeans and before colonization

and of course i compare africa to korea and japan, i compare africa and africans to every country that has ever existed on the planet, of course the histories are different but there are a lot of lessons that can be learend from korea and japan and there a lot of lessons to be learned by world histories in general

now compare parks' idea to your idea that after africans get control of their resources then they will invest in education, by studying korea i can tell what you are saying is a mistake because by looking at korea you can see that wealth comes from education, you dont educate after you get wealthy, you educate then you get wealthy
my point is that the whole notion that africa will get rich from its resources is a lie, africa and africans cannot get rich from selling commodities,
and wealth doesnt come from resources, wealth comes from having an educated population and capitalism, that is why the korea and japan example is important, it doesnt matter whether they were colonized or not

i said that africans had weak institution and you asked me what institutions europe had, and the biggest one europe was the catholoic church and it played a role similar to that islam played in making muslims a powerful force,
muslims also fought amongst each other that doesnt mean that islam was not one of the forces that allowed muslims to rise and compete with europeans and conquer parts of europe and defeat what was left of the roman empire, and even the precious mali empire and other african muslims empire rose because islam gave them a powerful advantage over non muslims around them
the catholic church played a similar role in europe, it was the catholic church that launched the crusades, and helped kick the moors out of europe, and it was the catholic church that saved literacy from disappearing and gave european kingdoms a latin script that all european languages are based on
literacy is not the primary determinants of why empires raise and fall, but literacy is a very powerful weapon, just like it was key to muslim conquests and expansion, it also was key to european conquests and expansion and its one of the primary weakness africans had in trying to organize against european encroachment
that weakness existed before the european and that weakness also spread through the african diaspora, so that is why its very important for africans to study park of korea and his maniacal obsession with education (as opposed to having a maniacal obsession with resources) because literacy and education are more powerful than commodities

the only comment i made about european unity was that the catholic church was an institution that united european kingdoms, and this was an advantage to europeans compared to for example the africans who had no common religion, on top of that the catholic church preserved literacy and the latin script from the roman empire, and literacy was another advantage europeans had
conflicts between the irish and british and french and british arent a counterpoint to the impact the catholic church had on europe
