I'm a 2nd gen Ghanaian, believe me to make it in most African countries you have to be corrupt to the core.

It's very difficult to be successful in those countries without being a crook.

???????

What about the coastal countries in Africa? I understand that Africa is a very large continent so trade with other countries is difficult, especially with poor infrastructure. What about trading amongst themselves?

And what about countries like Jamaica, Haiti, and other countries in the West Indies? Why is the extreme poverty so pervasive ?

Most black people like the easy way out of by blaming whitey.
What I have noticed is black leaders are incompetent and corrupt and enjoy fukking over their own people.
I think you might need to review the tweets that @Poitier posted.

But since you missed it, the reason why black leaders are corrupt because there is no "their people". There's an allusion that there is but in reality there isn't and never was. Where that illusion come from? like he said the Berlin Conference, "spheres of influence", the arbitrary joining of groups of people who wouldn't have come together otherwise.

This is where artificial state formation comes in.

The EU has been preventing intra-African trade.

" But despite this head start, intra-African trade links are pitifully weak. The bulk of the region’s trade is with Europe and America: only 12% is with other African countries, according to research by Ecobank, a Togo-based bank. By comparison 60% of Europe’s trade is with its own continent. The same is true in Asia. In North America the figure is 40%."

Lack of navigable waterways, lack of natural harbors, weren't just hindrances, but crippling. Leaving Africa out of much of the worlds early economic development.
This "falling behind" set the stage for much of the fukkery that followed.

This is a fairly legitimate question. Why is it that I as a black man cannot live in a predominately black run nation that isn't struck with abject poverty? I know the reasoning for this depends on the historical/economical status of that particular country. Every country has its own set of issues. However abject poverty seems to be the overriding theme for many predominately black nations across the planet.

The Asians have Japan, South Korea and Singapore. These countries has vastly different histories than a lot of African nations. They've also overcome oppression by the west and currently have relatively healthy economies.
Africa as a whole seems to be undergoing steady development but they are years, if not decades behind the rest of the world.

I know answering this question would take extensive research. I know this is pretty vague question so im asking for opinions.

The slave trade & colonialism africa has barely recovered since.
