Why are PSN users paying $50 a year for throttled internet speeds in mp?

"throttled" implies this is intentional. maybe their servers just suck

Nope borrowed my nephews. Just couldn't justify a $500 purchase for one game. Maybe I'll buy one after E3 if they announce something good
That'd be my guess, they lack infrastructure.
Seems to be worse depending on where you are regionally.
Hope they don't get too complacent with their lead in sales and remember to reinvest into the infrastructure.

He doesn't mind. He ain't got shyt to play. Bloodborne is too hard for him. I gave him $50 plus I'm gonna buy Dragon ball for him when I give it back.
I think it's intentional. I read a thread in the forums of the official playstation site where a guy tried questioning support after founding out why his speeds were so slow when he had the highest speeds from his ISP. After a lot of BS and speaking to several one of them actually stated that it's a cap.
Meach internet is trash. It takes me less than 3 hours to download full games, and my connection ain't een the best offered by cox
Something is definitely shaky about psn. Me and my boy have serious issues playing anything on ps4 together (lag, stuttering, etc.) . Yes, my boy's internet sucks but we have no problems playing anything together on X1. It's weird
2.50 update took 8 mins to download, nba 2k15 patch was like 3gbs took an hour or more
