Fantasy.
My exes little brother got me into anime and i got my nephew into it. Toonami was the shyt and so was adult swim. Cowboy Beepop, Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun was my shyt. We used to stay up all night watching them, I remember they used to play Inuyasha like at 5 in the morining and even tho it was the same episode they played at midnight i would watch it over. Hands down one of my favorite animes. I used to cry like a baby cause of the love triangle lol.
Then my nephew upgraded me to those site where you could watch all sorts of anime for free. I havent watched anything in forever tho. I was asking him about Attack on Titan last night cause of the gifs in here, he said its pretty dope. Might watch idk.

85% weirdo nikkas.

Only black men I know in real life that are into anime are wifeys cousins. I got love for them but they are squares for real like them breddas play clarinets and shyt like that. Yeah me and my lil bro loved dbz as kids but we grown now.

Just look at the state japanese men are in young black men don't need to be going down that road

Been into Anime since CN/Toonami aired Outlaw Star, I was hooked after that. Still one of favorite series to date, although I've since went to watch many more that I rank highly.

It's always been a personal thing, though. The nerds who were into anime at school never accepted me because I was a flashy nikka in foams/jordans and polo with a penchant for Dipset, hoodrats and fukkery. :mjcry:
Even tried to join the DC Anime club and they froze me out :mjcry:

I'm glad though, def didn't want to fit into that mold and stereotype of having to be lame/nerd/weirdo to enjoy anime.

2 of my nieces love anime now, because of me. I remember watching week-after-air fan subs and trying to expose them to it, but they were too young to keep up with the subtitles and they threw me too the bushes. Now when I come around they always tell me about how much they love anime and prefer Subs over dubs. :wow:

Haven't been on the anime tip in a few years now, but it will always have a place in my heart

Every single 80's and 90's baby in the hood grew up on Anime. Like literally every single kid I went to school with. I'm from fukking North Memphis, I know most of y'all nikkas are from weird ass places where barely any black people live. I'm in the hood going to school with young nikkas playing Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade

Literally everybody I grew up with, no matter how hood they were, watched Toonami as soon as they came home from school and talked about it the next day. Like if you're around my age (20), you had a very sad childhood if you don't remember sitting at the lunch table in elementary talking about Yu-Yu Hakusho and DBZ, making paper beyblades, and having Yu-Gi-Oh duels

if you didn't watch manga in your teens, stfu. every little nikka I knew was watching ninja scrolls, DBZ, Fist of the North Star, Street Fighter, and all types of adult manga back on the day. Nudity, violence, fantasy...nothing in real life could duplicate manga son.

when I was in college, people stayed borrowing my set. all...the...damn....time....

Either some of y'all ain't black or y'all coming up with some Disney shyt about how 'all the nikkas you grew up with' were fukking with this shyt. Ain't NOBODY I grew up with or knew was watching this anime shyt. NOBODY.
How old are you and where are you from? Everybody I know born in the 80's and 90's grew up with anime. I'm from North Memphis so I'm actually from a place where plenty of black folks live. You must be in your 40's or had a shytty childhood with no cable
