I don't think they are caping for his actions.
I think people are disappointed in a lot of factors surrounding the justice system and blk male incarceration and the in unfairness of it all. I also think people are sad to see one of ours get caught up in shyt like this especially at such an old age. shyt hurts and I know Bill don't know my ass from dirt but it still does something to me, especially knowing monsters far worse are going free.
Then I think about any women who may have been Bill's victims and how they feel. They get double victimized. First by Bill and then by a community who feels like they betrayed it simply for speaking out about somebody fukking THEM over which is some shyt that needs to stop.
Honestly I don't want the same shyt that goes down in the white community to go down in our community.
White people PROTECT their predators. Elect them to office, move em around to a different church, claim mental instability for em, and just sweep it under the rug.
We really can't afford to do the same. And I don't want us to lose our souls trying that shyt in the process. Moreover, people are legitimately hurt by these people. Our community has enough outside predators to worry about before we try and cape for the ones tearing us apart from within.
At some point good, upstanding blks have to be willing to let creeps go their own way. OR have the courage to help them before it goes this far?
Where the fukk are the people in these stars entourages who have the courage to tell them fukking over these chicks ain't right?
We should care more about protecting our community than caping for sickos just b/c they were apart of our childhood or had some bops.
At some point when are we going to start encouraging our Bill Cosby's to get help? An 81 year old man shouldn't be getting raked over the coals in his old age b/c nobody addressed this shyt in his youth.
Can we ask R. Kelly what the appeal of middle schoolers is and help him confront how his own sexual trauma influences his sickness? Instead of telling the young women he hurt to STFU to "protect" our childhood idols...
Couldn't someone have had some discourse with Bill to get to the bottom of why helplessness in a prone woman is a turn on...to let him know it's unacceptable.

Because, within the context of America and its ongoing demonization of black men, you cannot take a nuanced look at the incarceration of Cosby without seeing that he is being held to a far different standard than white peers who stand accused of behavior that is no less criminal. Black people who applaud his conviction and imprisonment alongside white people are borderline c00ning. Why can't we ever stay on code?

I really wish black folks would recognize the double standards when it comes to how we’re held accountable for shyt. We can’t say Bill Cosby had a rough upbringing, was a normal guy, a father, had mental issues. A white man can shoot up a daycare center and white people will make sure to humanize the perpetrator. A black man runs a red light and it’s these nikkas to take responsibility, the black community doesn’t hold people accountable, he wasn’t raised right etc.

It’s not what he did but why he is being convicted & jailed. If Cosby was convicted when it happened no one would have a problem with it. He was convicted years later after being used to criticize black culture publicly but when he wanted to provide a positive image again on television he was denied. That positive image of black colleges & black professionals is needed & he was only one with balls to do it.
