So who should I put money on. On Dallas the true underdogs and hope for the Upset bc they a different team with Romo or the Panthers and make some money with that line :lupe:

By the way a nikka really don't bet like that :lupe:

It's the reason why Green Bay was -3 favorite over Pittsburgh in the 2011 Super Bowl.

Because even tho Pittsburgh has won 2 SBs in the past 5 years, odddmakers knew GB was the 2nd most bet upon team (after Dallas) and the line reflected that in an attempt to get money on both sides equally.

Has nothing to do with Vegas thinking GB was going to win, but rather they expected the PUBLIC to come out and put money on GB no matter what so they gave the Steelers points.

A 10-6 Cowboys team in the Super Bowl would almost assuredly be favorites if they were to play a 13-3 Patriots team. Not because Dallas is better or should win, but because of public perception and how the masses will throw their money around.

I get the larger point but the last statement is outright false with these current teams...that works to an extent but not as far as you're taking it

That's the point.
NE is never the underdog.
Carolina is unbeaten facing a bad Cowboys team. Why are they not favored?

Do you not understand that the same logic about balancing the bets applies to all teams, yet certain teams are always listed as favorites?

:jbhmm:
You're either dumb or being willfully ignorant here.

Carolina is playing better football at the moment than Green Bay is.

But if Dallas plays at GB right now, GB is favorites. But since Dallas is playing at home (which gets them 3 points or so. So on a neutral field this line is actually Carolina -2) and against a team the public HISTORICALLY never bets on, while Dallas is THE team the public HISTORICALLY bets on, the line represents such.

This line reflects the fact that the people who spend money on games to bet and make them interesting have been throwing tons of money on Dallas for YEARS. Decades.

They only been betting Carolina for this season.

That's why the line is Dallas -1.

That's the problem with comparing Carolina to Dallas, GB, Pitt, and NE. Sports betting wise, Carolina is a one-hit wonder this year compared to the last 15+ years of heavy money being thrown upon the aforementioned teams.

Everybody knows Cowboys aren't a real 3-7 team as the Romo/Dez injuries threw everything off. Don't understand why people pretending to be confused by this.

If it's such a crazy line...there's easy money to be made :yeshrug:

I'm a Cowboys fan and still confused to why they're would be favored. It's not like Romo has been lighting it up in the 3 games he played. I'm in Dallas right now for Thanksgiving and 105.3 the Fan said Dez is still playing hurt. :yeshrug:

I can't see the Cowboys lighting up Norman, Tillman, and Harper. :yeshrug:

Cause Romo is back. Dallas is obviously better than that 3-7 record. Carolina is due a lose too. I'm betting on Dallas too :umad:

I think the public will flock to Carolina even with a healthy romo. These degens don't wanna leave the party till they get kicked out and Carolina starts losing
It's Thanksgiving. It's Dallas. They got Romo back. They haven't lost with Romo yet.

Again, it's Thanksgiving and it's the Cowboys.

Don't play yourself, there's going to be insane amounts of money on Dallas this week. By setting it so Carolina is getting points, there will also be heavy money on them as well to "balance the scales" for the sports books.

This

And if Vegas is not getting the bets to even, that's when the line starts to move and the team not bet on as much starts to get more or less points to even it out.

There is no conspiracy or anything that the OP is trying to make it out to be. Just business, nothing personal

This thread is an obvious attempt at the "Panthers are so disrespected!!!!" narrative.

It's not that they think the Cowboys will win. In fact, since home field is worth 3 points, Carolina is actually a 2 point favorite if it's a neutral site game.

People in here trying to extrapolate sports betting data into actual predictions, and that's not how the gambling realm works.

Mediocre QB/offense with a great defense playing on the road in a short week against a Romo led Cowboys team desperate for a win. Outside of Panthers fans, who is really scared of Carolina? They're a good team, but are they great? Nah, Boys should be favored TBH
Your perseverance is admirable, if nothing else. :wow:

You only have half a point but you're caping because you're a Cowboys fan
Show me how many times New England has been the underdog in order to balance the betting lines.
Until then...

A 10-6 Dallas team that wins the Wild Card, Divisional, and then Conference Championship game to get in the Super Bowl would be favored in the betting industry over any team that wasn't and undefeated Pittsburgh or New England.

This shyt is chess, not checkers. They're playing public perception and business tactics, not a fukking pick em league.
