i agree they are designed to only last about a year it seems...my triggers are fukked on both mine, which isnt a good look when I play shooters

My day 1 controllers been through literally a couple thousand hours of gameplay and they work fine still.

I've had 2 for about 2 years now and just a couple days ago the right trigger broke on one of them. I tried to open it and repair it and broke the left trigger's spring out. I took the right trigger spring out too and it still works, got me like ... triggers are real sensitive though

Just be delicate with the ribbon cables. The contacts strip away easily. A friend of mine had a dog chew his so we opened it up to replace the controller housing. It's pretty straight forward to tear down until you get to the touch pad. It's a little awkward but turning it helps.

I've taken apart numerous ps4 controllers. shyts are simple. Might put a blackberry battery in my new one so I can get all day battery life
