Face it. Dogs are the ultimate companion to man. At least that's the perception of dogs in American culture and a few other cultures where dogs are loved and put on a pedestal.

In many other cultures, calling someone a DOG means you have no dignity or sense of shame. Think about it you can beat a dog's ass and 10 minutes later call it to you and it will come happy as a mother fukker swinging its tail like nothing hapenned.
At least that's how dogs are viewed in Haitian culture
When haitians, especially haitian women call you a dog she doesnt mean you' "got b!tches" like in America. It's way way deeper insult than that. Thus why insults and cussing people doesnt translate well in some languages. Calling somene a b!tch in those languages dont have quite the same sting/venom as it does in english. Tho, call someone a mule in kreyol, then you might wake up in a hospital.

Anyway, dogs are the traitor ultimate of the animal kingdom. Aside from their puppies, they'll betray their fellow dogs and animals to protect humans.

Yeah I've noticed white people really go "over the top" with their love of dogs like if they had to choose between saving a "Human Vs. Dog" in a critical situation, shyt most of them in a heartbeat would jump in front of a car to save the dog .
