Why aren't Child Molesters executed immediately?

I guess this one goes back to being for or against execution. I'm against, but I must admit I might just make an exception for child molesters. HOWEVER, how many times can a jury be 100 % sure dude was guilty/didn't have a temporary craziness/won't be able to rehabilitate?

Very touchy subject. I guess the best would be to have them do a minimum of 40 years or something. It's hard because it basically means you're SURE that the guy will be a repeat offender. Who are we to judge that?

I can't remember that movie with Kevin Bacon where he plays a child molester that gets out and tries to go on with his life, it's quite disturbing in the sense that he genuinely seems to have a problem and try to better himself. Made me rethink my stance on the issue.

Executed no. I do think they should have harsher penalties though.

Children fcuk up other children' lives more than adults do...Children are the BIGGEST and CRUELEST child abusers in our society...

thats a good point but unfortunately we live in a very weird society now...it once was widely understood that those who practiced 'homosexuality' were deviant and in fact categorized as' sick' in the psychiatric manual of mental/psychological disorders

my point is this- even though you might think pedophilia is aberrant there are many who are presently working very hard to make it acceptable and normal

just be prepared when your society legalizes marriages between adults and minors....cause its on the way

The system is set up so that if they do try to go and get help they get royally screwed over and the information could come out and ruin them.

Well you can't just immediately execute somebody, you have to have a trial and (theoretically) make sure the person is actually guilty.

As far as the death penalty...I have no sympathy whatsoever for child molesters, but I'm against the death penalty as a general rule so it'd be hypocritical to make an exception just because I find the crime particularly heinous. I'd be fine with a mandatory life w/no possibility of parole for child molesters.
