Why aren't more players teaming up like LeBron & Durant?

So he demanded a trade in July... took it back LITERALLY back the next day in July because the Lakers promised him help was coming in February.

Makes sense. :mjlol:

How does this even compare to KD being a coward? :hhh:
It compares because he wanted another star or 2 to play with. How can you not comprehend that? :why:

In fairness Bron joined a squad that had a 'star' who'd never won 35 games and his team traded for another 'star' who'd never gone .500 or been to the playoffs this last time

Because most franchises aren't currently structured to have 3-4 max contract players on them at once. GS isn't going to be as stacked once they have to max out Draymond and Klay. Curry isn't even getting max money I believe.

The GS situation is not easily replicable. I mean how can you plan to draft a player then have him get injured right before his contract is up so he signs a cheaper deal, then have him turn into a top 5 player in the league.

and then have Harrison Barnes turn down his extension right before his contract season which happens to come at the same time a top 5 player is a free agent.

The role luck plays just isn't mentioned enough.

Cause unless you are built a certain way money trumps winning and who is turning down an extra 50-60 million dollars for a chance to win a ring. Especially when realistically it's three or four teams during any given season that are even going to have a chance to win a title.

the nba is paying you too much money to stay on your current team. Honestly unless you're going to be an time great just get your bread and chill in april may and june. Someone like goron heyward isn't going to be an ATG so stay in utah and get paid. Same with paul george. Someone like cp3 should go to the spurs or back to the hornets

Plus you already buy a house and your family is comfortable. Some players just don't wanna deal with it if they can get a fair deal.

I could see DeMarcus Cousin teaming up with someone if things don't go well with the Pelicans next year, he could definitely leave for Washington because New Orleans cannot offer him a DPE.

That is the only way guys will leave their current teams now, if they don't get all NBA.

“He (DeMarcus Cousins) said he would come to D.C., but he didn’t know what was going to happen,” Wall told The Undefeated. “I didn’t know he was going to be traded like that. We thought it was going to be later on or he was just going to stay (in Sacramento). It shocked me just like it shocked him.”

As fans know, Cousins surprisingly was dealt to the New Orleans Pelicans in a rather lopsided deal. The trade even shocked Cousins, who spoke with Wall on the phone after learning of the news. “It was so crazy because he walked past me when I was talking to the media (after the NBA All-Star Game) and he said something about the trade,” Wall told ESPN. “I was like, ‘Huh.’ It didn’t register what he said. So I called him right when I got to my phone. He said, ‘Yeah, I’m at the airport. I don’t know where to go. Do I go back to ‘Sac’ or do I stay here?’ :mjcry: He was just hurt. I feel that with all the tough times he had been through (in Sacramento), he never gave up on the city.”

Seems likely, we'll see if John signs an extension this summer or waits, if he waits that leaves the space open for Boogie. Yall would still have to find a way to clear some salary, but it's definitely a realistic chance of if happening.

Most players don''t want to be 2nd options like Kobe, Scotty Pippen, Dwyane Wade
Most players don't want to be 3rd options like Chris Bosh, Kevin Love, Ray Allen
Most players don't want to be 6th man like Manu Ginobli, Lamar Odom, Andre Iguodala

Heck even #1 options like Lebron (allows Kyrie to close out games) and Steph Curry (feeds hot hand or who ever has mismatch) have to sacrifice.

The issue is :patrice:

1. Ernie

2. DMC is a UFA in 2018.

3. The Wizards cap is clear in 2019.

4. Ernie

5. Mahinmi's contract
