I recently read this article and it talks about the rise of single fathers.

Do you know a single father?

Or if you are a single father, how has your experience been?

I am trying to start a non-profit to help bring more awareness to this underrated group.

There are some great single fathers, not all are deadbeats.

Let me know your thoughts.

(not sure if this is how you start a thread.) still a newbie

To answer the question within the title...

It's simply ingrained into our society. Social conditioning, stereotypes, etc...

I'm a single father with full custody of my child. I prefer my situation as opposed to dealing with a toxic "parent"

I respect what you do but I'm sure there aren't many like you. I may be wrong since I'm not a father. But atleast your child has you since I'm guessing the mother wasn't capable of having full custody. Usually the mother has custody from what I've seen.

Yeah, mother wasn't able to have custody.
It was either I step up, or my child would remain in foster care.

I also wouldn't say there aren't many men doing this, I actually here about them or see media on them pretty often.

It's just not seen as a societal norm..

yeah but as having an inept mother or mother not being around anymore? Still difficult on both versions tho.

Norfeast groovin…
I was raised by a single father from adolescence up through high school. It was odd cuz most of my friends lived under single mothers.

It would be immoral of you to start such a non-profit.
Please do not do it!

why should men be recognized for doing shyt that's normal and what they are suppose to do
while you're right broken families shouldn't be accepted as a norm even though it is
a single father raising a boy, is cool but a single father raising a daughter should be given a fukking trophy real shyt
