Why arent the nba finals as big as the super bowl?

I think there's more drama in a 7 game series than 1, but i like basketball more than football so i'm biased

this is america and football is KING here.

the super bowl is an american holiday.

like some dudes have already said. 1 game > a series. it's easier to advertise for one game than a series.

all the commercials for 1 time slot. all the "super bowl deals" from restaurants. setting up a party for 1 game compared to 7 parties. not to mention it's easier to hold a casual fans attention for 1 game than an entire series. you got women who never saw a regular season game talking about the super bowl and watching it.

hell the nfl playoffs alone are greater than the nba finals.

nobody cares for the nba today, people feel like it's becoming more rap oriented than anything else, plus there's no Larry Bird vs Magic type of rivalry in the NBA, then no player not kobe or lebron has that michael jordan world-wide appeal for people to get attach to.

Football is more popular for a variety of reasons.. gambling is one of them. Only 16 games is another. One and done playoff format. Every team has a chance for a quick turnaround. It's more violent. I mean shyt, the list goes on and on..

Listen, game 7 of Heat vs. Spurs which was an EPIC finals had 26 million viewers. Do you know how many viewers Notre Dame vs. Alabama had despite the big blowout? 26 million viewers.

It depends on the matchups. Plus its a 7 game series and the only game where people might be interested is the series clinching game (game 6 or 7). If the NBA was like the NCAA Tourney there would be hoopla.The Super Bowl will never have low ratings no matter if its Cardinals vs Bengals or something.In the NBA Bigger the name or bigger the team the higher the ratings.If it isnt Lebron,Kobe it wont have record breaking ratings.True fans dont give a damn about the ratings
