Personally, now this is just my opinion, but I think you should exercise all rights in this country that are given to you. Voting, speech, and owning guns. More specifically to guns, I believe that every man and woman should be able to defend themselves if it comes down to protecting your family, home, or life. So when people start saying you as a BLACK man shouldn't own a weapon, that person is trying on the low key, talk you out of the rights that were promised to you. And on some street shyt....If they have a gun. I will have gun. That applies to the police, these silly nikkas out there with hand-me-down guns, and crazy cacs who think my music is too loud. If you are not armed...someone else is.

Any BA that knows a little about real history like what happened to the black wall street will know why blacks must exercise their 2nd amendment rights at all times-with the exception of women,who by their nature are temperamentally incapable of responsible gun ownership.
IMO,if for philosophical reasons you're unarmed blame yourself when s hit happens.

Because institutions set up to protect people from killers arent not the most reliable and may not always be there.

I wrote my note for a spot on law review/journal on this very same subject about a month ago, and even used the Cottrol and Diamond law review article. I personally don't believe that more guns in the hands of African-Americans will help decrease crime against law abiding Blacks in high crime areas, the data that is currently available does not show a strong correlation between increased gun ownership and lower crime within high crime areas. There are currently only surveys of prisoners stating that they would be hesitant to engage in a violent crime if there was an increased chance that a potential victim had a firearm, but it should be noted that the survey involved a small number of prisoners.
