Ive said this, but we have to find a better way of filtering the bad businesses out of our community. Cause labeling the issues as a black business issue is also throwing good businesses under the bus too, cause them to be stigmatized. We treat other groups businesses individually, it should be common sense to treat ours that way too.

It's actually worse than that. If we get bad service at a non black owned business we just chalk it up to them having a bad day. Yet at a black business we assume that's how they always operate, and then use it as a reason to not shop at black businesses. A lot of black businesses fail because we have a lot of our people treating them with a c00n mentality.

Why can I go to the papis or the Asians, and get a loaded up platter for $8 - $10?? They're not tryin to be skimpy wit the portions, either. Second I pull up to our folks a platter jumps to $20+. :camby:

7 times outta 10...the plate not even bussin. My aunt thru my lady make better plates, and don't even own restaurants. Too many of these fake ass IG chefs opening spots and really can't cook. Lastly u know u gotta get the customary attitude from black business, as if they doin u favor wit mid food, or service. :dahell:

Hate to shyt on our folks, but a lot of nkkas definitely gotta do better. NOT ALL but A LOT.

Black owned businesses don't have to rely on black dollars to be successful.
Asian Owned businesses in this country largely make their money on non asian consumers for example.
They then take that money and re-invest into their own community. works very well for them. and their community

We seem to have it backwards, black owned businesses are supposed to support the black community with the money they make, not the other way around.

We?

I change banks. I keep a few checking accounts actually, just in case Chase wanna get buck with me.
I ain't step foot in a Chevron since some random clerk gave me guff 25 years ago.
I go across town to different grocery stores,
I cook for myself and use the internet.

A lot of us don't tolerate poor service from anyone.

Y'all need to check this narrative that Black people will tolerate BS from non-Blacks, but punish Blacks who bring the BS.

If you own a black business it better not rely on only black people supporting it to survive.
Such a high demand fro fried chicken in this country, you have greek fried chicken places, Chinese, and Italian.

Should be a massive black owned conglomerate similiar in size to KFC selling our food to every race. The demand is obviously there. and yet we are concerned about black consumers.

Do You want American black business people to live like Asian immigrants with 16 people living in a house and several children working illegally in the back of the shop?

Cause that is the real cost of cheaper food.

Find an Asian joint that employees nonasian people(at American wages) and the prices quickly begin mirror those of white restaurants and black ones.

Customer Service requires HUMILITY and CATERING to people, on which the average "get the bag" Breh or Brehette is not willing to humble themselves to do a good job.

Customer service is a sign of GENERAL MATURITY on which a lot of people feel that it is 'soft' or 'degrading' to serve a customer.

We need to grow out of that warehouse/factory line mentality.

Bingo well said.

From what I’ve noticed it wouldn’t hurt a lot of these businesses to send someone in the family to go to school and get a marketing degree/mba so they can effectively maximize their reach and profit. I see so many inefficiencies with our owned businesses that I know could be better if they just had a little help.

I can tell a lot of y'all don't know what Chinatown really is.

You really think they're living it up by selling each other Chow Mein?

That's like you selling the neighbor some ribs, and them selling you some potato salad back, and between the 2 of y'all you can buy 2 mansions, a yacht, and a Hellcat.

The traditional pillar of Chinatown is MANUFACTURING. In this case, garment making.

That's how they employ local Asians and legal/illegal immigrants. That's where the bulk of the money comes from and then gets circulated down through all the retail businesses that make up "Chinatown". (And as manufacturing has dried up, they have had problems in getting similar work - much like the rest of the world)

Chinatown historically makes and sell clothes to rest of the country/world, and those wages and profits go into their retail businesses, but also real estate and banking. A lot of NYC is full of Chinese people at sewing machines. A lot of Fashion Week is courtesy of Chun and Bruce Lee.

The Asians that grow up here, usually can't work the same jobs their parents did. You might catch a few that run the family bakery, maybe update it with some internet stuff - but food is a low profit margin business. It always has been. Lotta people know how to make a good sandwich.

Hence the 2nd generation gets into Medicine and STEM.

So if you want a "Little Harlem" - you need a thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of Black people, in your area making something that sells to the world. Not a collection of Shea Butter retail spots and artisanal wing tips with Unc's hot sauce.
