The 6 series was actually 1 inch longer, same width. They the same size lol
Interesting, I guess the way the 8 “looks” flatter and wider gives it a larger appearance. The 6 was narrow with swollen shoulders and a shytty headlight design

this shyt was a mess and the car looked like a damn sleepy turtle up front.

Thankfully they cleaned it up but by then the lineup started to get bloated with all of these random GT and GranCoupe models. It’s like they didn’t know what they wanted to do.

the current 8 series is just ehhh. I’m sure it’s a great car but the original version is too damn iconic. And there are just better options above and below it like the Jag F Type and the Lexus LC (which seems to get better with “age”)

It was a weird time for Bmw. They were trying to be everything for everyone (and still are with their 27 different model types and a million variants.) the M8 is an absolute monster though, have you seen it yet? Bah gawd

The real problem is that at that price tag, you're competing against a decked out Accord or Camry which in all honesty is usually the better buy. The only one of the Germans who figured out the right balance is Audi with the A3's and Q3.

Not really because if the cheaper Mercedes had similar reliablity people will still pick the merc. The real problem is after your lease is up you wind up spending money just keeping it running.

new 8 series is what the original 6 should have been from the start. BMW with 30 damn models like these Gran Coupes and GTs are ridiculous. It’s wild. You have some brands like Infiniti that have like 6 models and then BMW/Merc have these bloated lineups and half the shyt should go to the bushes.
