I can't speak for other cities, but we have all of these in Chicago. The problem is, most of these kids don't want to use these resources, nor do they have the authority figures to make them utilize these resources. does the media glamorize the rappers who are shot dead while pursuing their rap dreams? these kids see the benefits of the lifestyle because that's what the media they tune into floods them with, I can't blame a kid for not understanding what he's not seeing. these kids aren't necessarily ignoring the rappers who are shot dead, media simply doesn't give it much attention and therefore the kids won't see it unless they're actively looking for it and I can't think of any reason why they'd be searching for rappers who died or went broke.

Because they grow up in an environment where white supremacy and "the bigger picture" isn't a part of their lives. It's about mere survival.
