IOS, but it works fine from ipad

No, just google images. I never had to take all the extra steps before

ok perfect. are you using the google search or the actual browser? cuz sometimes when I click on the google search icon and look for a picture, it shows that instead of with using chrome.

Same problem for me - IOS, Never had an issue before but now it happens every time.

Might be the format also. Try clearing your cache and cookies too.
