Why can't Kendrick just make normal music like he used to.

He complicates his music now, he's doing the most

Section.80 is my favorite, the overall feel is GOAT
plus it was Jazz but TPAB is Jazz on Roids

Album goes plat but you think no one wants to listen to it? Ok cool that's how it works.
Maybe thy're buying records. Cause for some reason he cant tout like everyone else in his sales bracket .
Him and TDE are still showing up to every possible festival, juggling bowling pins, playing pin the tail on the donkey and blowing balloons for children

the #1 response from dummies whenever someone not feeling the direction an artist is going: "you just not intelligent enough" "you can't appreciate being different" "you just can't comprehend his greatness" :russell:
usually this is from nikkas under 25 too.

how about nikkas just ain't buying what ya man selling? :camby: this is coming from someone who likes his latest ep too. but i can understand people not feeling his new direction

and if you think it's kendrick behind this creative direction you are a god damn fool. :mjlol: this nikka got the biggest machine in rap behind him and someone is pulling the strings :sas1:

Sonically TPAB just wasn't that memorable besides for a few tracks. It's simply way too boring. These nikkas hear some jazz and funk influenced sounds and come with that "this is so progressive! yall nikkas just don't get the artistry he's trying to portray. we're so lucky to be alive!" :martin:
Was the album garbage? No! The message was positive and he's pushing new boundaries, which is to be applauded....IF the music sounds good!
But why yall getting mad that not everybody believes it's some timeless masterpiece. smh

Lmao this thread is filled with people saying shyt like nobody was fukking with his album when it came out and providing no sources to it :lupe:. I can say shyt that is deemed as a fact too :francis:.

TPAB has no replay value :mjlol:.

In a era where Kendrick is a top dawg in the game, u gonna act like people not going to be playing songs from TPAB 10 years from now:russ:.

You may not like it but thousands of other people do :yeshrug:, and nothing is wrong with their ears. People have different taste in music .

Not all of this weird stuff you can't hear. Just rap breh. Stop all this repeating stuff words and phrased weird shyt. Just get on their and rap

i actually agree

i feel like ATL rappers got some of the best production right now-

would love to hear kendrick or even j cole on some of these metro boomin or london tracks :blessed::blessed:

kendrick reminds me of pac- he was dope but he was great in spite of lackluster production for the most part- had he had better production his great music would have been even better

This sums up how majority of people i know feel about it.

we get it appreciate him being positive, but that does not have to happen over sleepy jazz beats, and THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT- Just because it positive does not mean that it will be entertaining or be sonically pleasing :manny:

He's been doing this type of music :why:

It's nothing but S.80 on steroids

Well those of us who havent been Kendrick fans his whole career (majority) were intro'd to his music on "good Kid MAAD City" I apologize, but that was his major label debut and I lived in LA at the time- do you know the whole damn album pretty much was on the radio- i mean dude had song after song on there you could really ride to-- :wow:

Call it what you want but plain and simple- peoples whose first Kendrick album was good kid, they were disappointed when TPAB dropped. I get that artists grow, but fans liked a certain thing about you, and when you go TOTALLY away from it theres backlash. :usure:

No different than Fetty WaP could have been best lyricist ever before his major label debut, for all i know. What matters is he got hot off "My Way" and that annoying singing style. If his follow up album is super lyrical- he may gain fans like me- but he will lose alotta of the "for sure" sales he would have gotten because his audience is mostly women now, and they expecting a certain sound on a Fetty Wap song. :manny:

At the end of the day Kendrick has always been a go against the grain rapper and it's one of the reasons GKMC was praised. But he spit on mostly dope beats.

If the instrumentals is wack I don't care what you spit or how you spit it. I'm not gonna listen.
