lack of replay value. As an entire project it's thoughtful, cohesive, uplifting etc. On a song to song basis though it musically just aint that great. Doesn't take too much from the album tho, a lot of the hate is overstated. But ultimately thats the kind of flaw that keeps it from being anything near classic. Most people [who aint pump faking for the coli] don't have this in rotation in any capacity. I know I only have king kunta left on my SD card.
This is one of those albums thats great the first time you hear it and progressively gets more boring as time goes on. Still I'm glad he made it especially given his position in the game. Props to Kendrick (and cole) for trying to speak that real at the peak of their careers instead of trend hopping until they're washed then trying to talk the positive shyt.

Fair points. I still think it's too early for all these people saying he sucks or that he's some "white journalist industry type plant" many artist try something different and than go back to churning out the "bangers" everyone is typically waiting on. It's just funny to see a "Young Thug is great" thread and then have to see people call Kendricks music "not normal"
