yes it mattered. He was only playing because Driskel was hurt and Brissett transferred in the offseason after the 2012 season leaving us with only 2 scholarship. Nobody saw him as an NFL caliber QB....NOBODY along with the others I bolded. This is like asking why hasn't BYU produced a quality NFL QB outside of Steve Young. What's the last great OU QB or Texas QB
