In terms of dance, I developed a new appreciation for Bey’s dance style (some years ago) b/c I realized that she was mimicking band dance. However, despite this appreciation, she is still nowhere near MJ, Janet, Ciara or Aaliyah.

@brownsugah so now Aaliyah is a better dancer than Beyoncé, another one added to the list
:russ:

I love Aaliyah's music but cmon :snoop:

Beyonce has been the recent mascot of the current black feminist wave.

Dethroning the black male icon of Michael Jackson is a part of the game.

Another thing, I don’t believe drumming up sales and “views” and attention are the proper ways to measure the impact of ones artistry. As we’ve seen, tech advancements through time makes paying attention or redirection attention “easier” than the past but to say that those in attendance, with attention fixated, are expwriencing high level artistry is a mistake.

And that’s not to say Beyonce isnt good either. I’m just saying pretty much all she’s got going for her in an MJ vs Beyonce thread, is the numbers, not even pure proof outside of attention.

This part is definitely true

"The omnipresence of social media and reality TV and an endless barrage of media coverage have robbed the general public of the kind of innocence that made adults faint at the sight of Michael Jackson at the height of his pop mega-stardom"

it's not. if that were true there would've been other artists that caused pandemonium around the world everywhere they went and that wasn't the case.

it speaks volumes at how weak the music business is that it's not producing anybody with otherworldly gifts and talents. people will respond to a mega star regardless of what era we're in.

i'd argue that chadwick boseman can elicit a bigger reaction than beyonce when they go out :manny:

In their opinion.

What you find more entertaining is dependent on your preference.

Most men on their forum don't listen or buy Beyonces music. To try and shove this women's music as the best isn't going to work on these forums.

Come back when she can dethrown Janet, then maybe you can compare her to MJ.

Beyonce could never do this whole video without having a large production:
