We’ve all seen the list that has Curry at #5 behind Luka, embiid and Jokic..... which is a joke :skip:

People wonder why after he is coming off a championship and one of the best finals performances, etc....

My answer is Curry is (and has always been) a threat to the “Lebron Era” to the point that the NBA and media can’t elevate him too high or else :whoa:

That’s why at his peak, Warriors randomly got Durant (when they didn’t even need him) and the Warriors became “durants team” overnight

Understandably Durant was the new star next up after bron so he needed a title and all that’s fine but the real purpose was to undermine currys greatness and legacy......for a moment

We all see how things turned for Durant since. Injury aside, he’s been exposed these last playoffs and he’s ranked out the top 5 :hubie:

Any golden state fan will admit Curry > Durant

But will they say Curry > LEBRON? Or that Currys been the best in the nba for this past Generation? Probably not.

But it is still up for debate :leon:

But putting players like Embiid, Luka and even Jokic above Curry is like trying to push him out of contention for the the top spot and rob him of the credit he deserves as THE best player of his Era

And let’s be honest all those INTERNATIONAL players mentioned above aren’t a threat to Lebron. Like Durant, they aren’t even in his age range. They’re the future. But we’re talking who’s the best now.

All I’m saying is there has to be a reason for this Curry disrespect and it’s most likely LE AGENDA:manny:

Anyways, random rant. You know I’m the #1 Curry fan on here. Dub nation am I right or just trolling? :banderas:

Simple… Because he took 3 chips from Bron… he welcomed KD in… won a chip before him, during and after… Every time the media disrespect him he son them..

If Steph was Klay height the media would be on his nuts but because he a 6’3 mofo dominating the leagues most physically gifted superstars they still can’t fully grasp what they are watching.

Mans literally said last season when the dubs got eliminated from the play in “YOU DONT WANT TO SEE US NEXT YEAR” then proceeded to shyt on all his naysayers

Y’all blaming Lebron but I don’t think that is it. I think old heads don’t respect the three and perimeter game. I watch games my pops and uncles and they always be like “Bill Laimbeer would’ve broke him in half :demonic: .” “Oakley would’ve elbowed him in his ribs on every shot:birdman:” “That light skin mutherfukka wouldn’t have lasted a year in the 80’s”

“I’m like pops you light skinned:mjtf: and how is beating somebody up basketball?”

So I think it’s a combination of people not liking his size combined with his skin color and demeanor plus his style of play in an era many old heads consider manufactured.

Yea I agree, but that’s just your average hater fan who don’t know any better

Yea Curry gets some hate because of being light skinned and “weak” or not athletic but the media and NBA can’t use those things as reasons to underrated him

Plus it’s plenty of light skin stars they promote like Tatum

I just think they can’t come out and say “Curry is the best player in the world”

Most they can say is “is Lebron NO LONGER the best player in the nba?”

And then talk about Giannis, Luka or Zion taking his spot when maybe those players haven’t even taken Currys spot :leon:

If Curry played in the 80s and 90s the game wouldn’t know what to do with him… If you watched Dell play in the 90s his perimeter game was elite, he just ain’t have a handle

It might be the lebron thing and the height thing

The media likes steph, but they never really want to commit to calling him the best like they do with others.

I've seen them try to argue Kawhi be in the GOAT debate if he won with the Clippers. I remember in 2021 during the Nets Bucks series, Jalen Rose (or Paul Pierce i think) said that Durant could be in the GOAT conversation if they had won a ring :mjlol:

Yet Curry who has more rings and MVPs than those guys can't even get a nod as the best player :martin:

If curry got swept last season in the first round, they'd try to leave him off the top 10 :martin:

People fetishize measurables and physical talent way too much sometimes

Lebron and Curry aren't on the same level.. But Curry is above everyone else in this modern era, and it's well known that he is and he gets his flowers in that regard

Because Curry has his spot and is solidified

NBA pushes rivalries and focuses on marketing towards certain demographics

like I said in another thread, its why they turned on KOBE ... he wasnt face of the league friendly anymore

you make more money supporting Luka, Joell and Jokic .... than just making Curry the face of the league

if you make Curry the face of the league... he has no real rivals... he's in a class of his own shooting wise
and it would take money away from Lebron's marketing... its the same reason they wouldnt ever let Kobe Vs Lebron happen in the Finals
because one or the other wins, and then it absolutely destroys marketing for the other.... and 100s of millions are lost

then you'd have to regroup and push some other bullshyt in its place... which is a huge spot to fill. You simply cant replace a Lebron or Kobe.
but like you said with KD ... you give him a little juice and his solid... you give Curry props and rings... he's straight. Giannis got one... he's good now. Giving Steve Nash MVPs is the same thing. You solidify him, so you can keep him in marketing and basketball talks. You can take MVP from Shaq or Kobe in that situation because they are already solidified for marketing. Eventually, if there's not another good white player... they will have to get Luka at least 1 ring to solidify him. The marketing is more worldwide and spread out. They can ride different narratives now. With MJ, Kobe, Lebron it was an easy way to ride the train and guarantee topics and views. Curry has the support and legacy he needs.
Just like when they slept on the Spurs, it doesnt matter. You dont need to push them because they are already running smooth. Luka and them are the ones that need the media push, not Curry.

Fair warning. They're going to attempt to diminish his legacy and accomplishments when he retires. For better or worse, Steph literally fathered the current era of NBA basketball. They won't care. They'll tell you he was never the top player and his only accomplishment was shooting the 3 ball. He won't get credit for rebuilding the Warriors as their centerpiece and heart. He'll have been gift wrapped Draymond Green & Klay Thompson (two guys everyone outside of the Bay will swear had "hall of famer" written on them before their names were called in the draft.) He'll have been carried by Durant for two even though he'll end his career with more rings won without KD than KD will without him and the analytics will show he was never more effective or impactful on the game than Jokic.

You'll know what you saw in real time, but that won't stop the Klutch gaslighting. Yall nikkas better buckle up. :manny:

You can have a great season and not be recognized as the best player anymore. That's not a slight.

To many people, by 2009 and 2010 Kobe was not the best player in the league while averaging 30ppg through three straight Finals runs. I remember people ranking LeBron, Durant, CP3, Wade and even Nash over him at the same time.

Was that the truth? In my opinion no, but I can see where they were coming from sometimes. No one is out here plotting against Steph. It takes insane levels of paranoia to think so.
