Part of it comes down to money too

rap acts were getting more money then maybe soul/motown singers, thats why those peoples put out so many records compared to rap guys, most only dropped 3 or less albums

i dunno, maybe im wrong but BDK did slow down after 89

Kane went the R&B route and it cost him. He didn't have the strong singles for radio like LL did for Mama. Cause I Can Do It Right was cool but couldn't fuc with Around The Way Girl. Too bad Kane couldn't of had Marley and Prince Paul in 90 and 91. Paul gave Kane one of his best hip hop joints with Hard Being The Kane & Remix though.

You've spent the past 6 years trying to convince people online that 50 is a respected rapper. Give it up already. 2008-2014 no one has cared yet you still push so hard
Are you describing my life or yours? Only difference is you dedicate your life to proving 50 ISNT respected. Youre a well known troll from various forums whos had the same shtick since BISD came out... you only know my coli identity so it'd be hard for you to know what ive been doing for 6 years:mjlol: I see youre still salty over me making you look like a dumbass in your last 3 threads tho, go back to editing G Unit artists wikipedia articles and refreshing hitsdailydouble you basement dwelling cac.

50 Cent is irrelevant , are you really trying to argue that ?

Define irrelevance, He still makes headlines. Still has a fan base. He's just not a big as he once was.

People watch his show every week on starz, people still have arguments and discuss his music. Blogs like Sohh, All Hip Hop, Hip Hop Wired & Hip HopDX post anything and everything about him for hits because he brings traffic.

I'm a T.I. stan so I get what your staying , but his sales don't show he has a fanbase at least with T.I. he still goes gold without radio play not expecting gold for 50 but at least 50 could get 200k with that fanbase which should be bigger than T.I.'s but idk

G Rap still got his flow, he had the quotable of the year in '96 for his guest spot on the 'Murda Muzik' album. That guy can never sound old, not to mention he gave Nas, AZ and Big Pun their style.

The genre was so young, that brand new styles and concepts were being created at a break neck speed..

I remember one summer Das Efx was like :blessed: then 10 months later n1ggas was like :camby: because something more fresh had come out..There was almost a yearly evolution of trends, styles, slang and fashion....

Mainstream rap hasn't really evolved much at all since the summer of '97.. This is why people like Jay-Z can rap about the same exact things he was saying 17 years ago and not many people will call him on it or say he fell off...
Yep, the change between 89 to 94 was staggering

T.I. has a couple songs bubbling right not but he's not going Gold this time

Animal Ambition, had Jadakiss, Trey Songz, 3 Kidd Kidd features, Styles P, Mr Probz & Yo Gotti

it only had 1 radio single, A 3 month rollout & He released all the tracks before it came out

It had 11 songs on the standard which is the max before you start getting you royalties split up. It was a cash grab mixtape he called an album.

But you're right he should have sold more. Still doesn't make you irrelevant if people still care. Diddy hasn't had a hit since "Coming Home" but is he irrelevant? Musically maybe but in the grand scheme? No.

T.I.'s last album dropped in late 2012 and went gold :yeshrug: and idk during that time people were hyping Chief Keef's album and A$AP's album but those albums failed to go gold . I was saying musically tbh , 50 does his thang buisness wise :ehh:
