Why did death row collapse after pac's demise?

Because Suge Knight went to prison. That's why it fell apart.
Dre left prior to Pac dying, so Death Row was already dealt a blow. Then after Pac died, Suge Knight went to jail for violating his probation by being involved in the attack on Orlando Anderson. And when Suge went to prison, then Snoop left to No Limit. So basically the 4 biggest people involved in Death Row were all gone within 1 year. Then the investigation on their operation started and there was no coming back.

You still had reggie. You still had crazy funding. They had the doggfather to be released. They were in bed or could have gone in bed with lots of promising artists. They could have capitalized far more on pac's death than they did. They let dre take all the bonus we were his team bonus.
I knew Death Row was finished when Snoop dissed Suge in his lead single off Doggfather in 1996

Still, Dre and Pac were gone and Snoop was on the way out because he knew Suge being locked up was his chance to distance himself from Death Row
If Suge never went to prison they would've been okay because Snoop would've been too shook to leave.
even if they kept snoop, they were still done cuz snoop was already washed.
dre & daz were washed without each other, it seems.
i guess the dogg pound wouldve stayed together. they were ineffective as solo artists.
Snoop was washed but he was still extremely popular.
I think they were done once Dre left and Pac died because Dre made sure the music was right, and Pac sold records regardless of his quality (or lack of) music.
Dre was Death Row....when he left it fell. Proof is in the success of Aftermath. The following is my speculation but Had Dre never left...The Firm album woulda been Death Row related. Em would be on Death Row as well as 50 Cent and the G Unit movement.
aftermath was a flop for years until they put out eminem and became a suburban staple.
sure they signed 50 but he was already established. and they had to port Game to g-unit for him to blow up.
