Why did DMC5 not get backlash for having no upgrade path for next gen?

I searched the web and found ONE article of people complaining about it.

I bought the original for 59.99 and never really got far into it. I looked into a ps5 patch for after I’m done with whatever i got for this month and the only way you can get the next gen performance patch is to spend another 40 dollars to buy a whole new game, not even on sale?

but fr, I think the game might not have done as well as they initially expected so they wanted to recoup all they could.

The funny thing is if they offered a free next-gen upgrade they would have sold more of the last-gen version.

The shyt they included outside of the performance/4k patch isn’t even good shyt. Pretty much a turbo mode, a super duper devil booty eater hard mode, and Vergil which you can download separately for the last gen versions

The guy with the crow creeped me out, gave me Marilyn mansion vibes so i stopped playing. I figure i can try to ignore him when i play it again

But if you and @Gizmo_Duck want to make threads about incomplete games from PS4 to PS5 or functions that aren't working from last year and the next there is a long list of games that you can get started with after you finish with this
