Why did Ford change the escape to a fruity looking soccer cruiser?

2nd generation of the Escape is the best looking. imo.

the new Escape is better looking than the new Pathfinder tho.

for 3 generations the Pathfinder always had a "rugged" look to me, then this last one that came out, is border-lining on minivan. :stopitslime:

Yeah, a few of the "rugged" 90s SUVs went bytch. Along with the Pathfinder, the Ford Explorer did too. I don't even acknowledge the 5th gens as an Explorer

And truth be told OP, the Escape been a bytch SUV too. All those smaller SUVs :camby:to me

I have a 2nd Gen Escape and I kind of like the 3rd Gen (current one) a little more than mine

2nd gen is a bit too boxy and angular

I liked the 2nd gen escape :manny: Explorer got way too big. New Escape is basically a Rav.

I'll admit when the current version of the Explorer first came out, I hated it.
after awhile it grew on me tho.
it looks best when it's fully loaded (Limited & Sport). something about the base versions just looks like pure :trash:

I noticed that the current Rav4 looks minivan-ish too. not like the original Rav4's were the toughest, but you get my point.

Never could fukks with em man. I went to the dealership a few months ago and the salesman showed me one and similar small SUVs. I was like nahhhh. The 2010 Eddie Bauer Explorer I drove was nice tho.

When I owned my 96 Explorer I was heavy on the Serious Explorations forum, and the mods were like "please keep the comments about the 5th Gens to yourself" or something to that effect lol. I will say they drive nice and all, but they're just a bigger Edge. There's nothing drastic enough looks wise to pull me in

The new explorers are nice , but I agree with @Ricky Church , the basic model are pretty lame and the basic models don't even have the ecoboost engines . The new escapes are nice , the titanium version is the way to go.

Ford and Mazda collaborated on the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute. Ford got sick on not having to deal with maintenance issues and recalls so they cut ties with Mazda on the next generation Ford Escape to get back to their usual ways, i.e. build crappy cars that break down whenever.

The new fords seem to be quite reliable.

The pathfinder used to be so fukking ill when it was rugged. Now it look like an elevated camry. Completely basterdized that vehicle. Just talking about it got me mad.:pacspit:
