It's a few different subdivision of so called white people you have Germanic, Celtic, Frankish, Nordic, indo-aryans, etc. The color coding system we have today hasn't always been around. I don't think they considered themselves as one race of people like they do today.

I'm sure if you go back far enough in their lineages you can find a common kinship. But I don't think white people of Enlgish anccestry and white people of Irish ancestry share the same haplogroup markers.

Didn't use it as a factor. Using it as an example of various whites of various nationalities owning slaves , living in the same territories that became part of America.
