I always thought he had the better beats on bp1. There is a lot of shyt in regards to the falling out. Pre BP1 Bink1 already had a name and hits on his own. (Mr. cheeks - lights, camera, action. Nate Dogg - I got love. U-God - Bizzar) So he didn't need to be an "in-house" producer for the roc like kw and jb were and jay/dame wanted. The work he put in on Philly freeway and the b. coming r epic. Perhaps he shunned signing a production deal? Then there was a lil rumor (idk if true but it seems to be a recurring theme with jz) that jay banged bink's girl at the time (free from 106&p) while this was all happening.
There is also little argument from people who were around back then that if jb didn't str8 up bite bink's sound/style, he was highly influenced by it. Don't believe me, go listen to view from masada (pre bp jb), then listen to the songs listed above (pre bp bink), then listen to bp1 (u don't know and lyrical excercise are the most blatant), then listen to their respective catalogs post bp.

:ooh::drool::ooh::drool:

Mama loves me :wow: that beat makes me want to cry

and i never knew he made 1900 hustle, always thought just made it

their styles were to close man

any videos or interviews with Bink?

Not an interview but the beats on here just:bow: but they didnt use any of them  (btw its a beat listening session with B!nk and slaughterhouse for those who dont wanna click the link)

Props on the info. I always felt it had something to do with Just and Kanye being in-house producers. What some people dont realize is as a producer its best when you grow and comeup with an artist especially if your sound/style can easily be jocked (not saying B!nk style is easily jocked but when you sample it can be). The thing is even if it can be easily jocked if you come up with an artist and they blow they always going to come to you for that sound (case-in-point Jayz w/ Just Blaze & Ye; Dre & NWA, Snoop, Death Row; Dipset & heatmakers, and you can even see it today with Lex and Waka). Which leads to other artists hitting up that artists for the producers contacts or that artist putting you on to other artist.

The whole B!nk situation goes back to this "Dame made millions, even Jaz made some scraps, he could've made more but he ain't sign his contract". Idk if thats the real reason why they stopped fukking with B!nk cause he didnt sign a production deal but this is also the reason why I cant knock producers for signing production deal(Jahlil beats recently). Its a risk in that you may risk who you can freely work with (but if that were the case id just have another producer I could trust claim the beat but still get paid) but as long as you got quality beats your always going to get work.

I got a question tho when did he start accusing Just of biting, was it right after BP1 or more the mid-2000s. Also didnt he have a feud with Just Blaze and Rick Ross about a sample being jocked ob a beat Just did for Self Made 1. It was something about B!nk sending Ross a beat and Ross liking the sample but not really feeling the beat and having Just Blaze re-flip the sample.

It was the title track Self Made off the Self Made Vol. 1

If anything Bink! was overshadowed by Kanye and Just. When Blueprint is brought up Kanye, Just or both are mainly credited with creating a classic on the production tip. Bink! contributed the same amount of beats to that album not counting the bonus tracks.

Plus, the Kanye and Just productions were singles and they produced the most talked about songs on the album.

Yea this. Not only that, But Jay is VERY particular about beats. He hasn't worked with Just Blaze since American Gangster.

Jay had NO Kanye beats on American Gangster and only one on Kingdom Come.

Jay may love a beat, but if it doesn't fit the mood he's in on that particular day he won't use it.

Preem no showed a Black Album session and 9th Wonder ended up getting the street joint instead.

It's like I said in my last post in this thread, Jay is just weird like that. He gets around certain people, maybe he'll do one song, and then decide to stick with them for a lot of songs (Sean C and LV for AG). I mean some of it is scheduling. he records so fast. If you're not around in the week or two where he's recording you missed out. Or once again, maybe you play the best beat ever, but it's not what he wants that day.

So much luck involved with getting a track on a Jay-Z album.

I've always wanted him to work with Alchemist. Around the time of The Blueprint recording when ALC was really getting super tight with Mobb Deep Jay and Al ran into each other and Jay told him, "You're playing for the wrong team." Alchemist and BINK were on that soul sound before Kanye and Just actually.
