Why did Jim Crow-era whites want blacks to only get a technical/vocational education?

Exactly. EVERYONE should have a shot. Du Bois even switched to that motto when he left the US and understood that just a few in America doesn't work due to the class antagonisms that develop due to white supremacist practices. As a former teacher, I saw the math teachers and administration totally fukk black students and poor students out of learning how to do math. They gave them some textbook busy work and never really taught it...why? Because the bullshyt government changed the curiculum and they DO NOT train the teachers on the curriculum...as a result, they can't teach the students who have trouble so only a few get it off first bat and the rest are left behind...its bullshyt and the bureaucracy wants it that way to keep wage labor prevalent. Wild, Self, everything you advocate is truth because I've seen it both ways.
I found out that most of the Language, Math, and even foreign language teachers have a hard time communication and they are very arrogant on teaching people on what they need. Some of them lack patience and tolerance and some people are better learning off from a computer than an arrogant human being.
Yep. The arrogance comes from humiliation. Some teachers are ill prepared to teach curriculum that they themselves don't know (thanks to the bullshyt test-first bureaucracy), so they act out against the students. It happened all over my school and my school's math scores were embarrassing for that reason. There are serious communication issues and pedagogical issues on all levels of education but it starts with the curriculum implemented by the state (which is bullshyt for another time)
Exactly. All that knowledge means nothing if you can't teach it effectively. Some people in here believe that teachers don't have to guide their students to do anything but to punish them.
Those are the people that have never taught or seen how a school system works from the administrative and teacher levels. shyt is a ridiculous, colossal klusterfukk of epic proportions...fukk all those documentaries that come out; alll the parents on the coli need to actually spend a few days inside an inner city school and you will see EXACTLY what I'm talking about. The problems start and are exacerbated at the top
Yup, and they purposely do so. Even some of the posters in here that are STEM majors are arrogant and refuse to help the less fortunate. And people wonder why America is falling behind the global economy when the people with the smarts refuse to give back.
Yea but that's why we gotta keep working to bring those brothers and sisters over to help the disadvantaged. If we don't, we will continue to regress. The numbers show that we are regressing in every category, especially in relation to whites (income, net worth, incarceration rates, prison building to school building ratio in black cities, unemployment, etc.) People get all those bullshyt general numbers about all of America doing better, but the real scholars go after the true numbers and when they do, they will see that none of this crap is mainly the blame of poor people themselves. Its simply not possible. Some choose to accept it while other elitist continue their bullshyt. We can't give up breh, we gotta keep working
Yeah, some people in the hard sciences need to be more human and more tolerant. Thinking that everything can be calculated and used a commodity, not as a human contributing back.

CNC Laser Cutting. Most recent/current position is for a large Midwestern steel manufacturing company. Been on 3rd shift from 9pm to 5am shift for 5 years now, and do the office gig to use my bachelors/masters deree, during the day, from 9am to 5pm.
It's not pushed into thier heads as a healthy, sustainable way to make a living. Back when I started, I was making 50k right out of trade school before I was old enough to drink, but nobody knew it, because most people, let alone college kids, even know what a CNC operator is, how a corporation uses them, or how much they get paid, and I'm generally not very flashy.
Certain people want status and recognition. Get that corporate job and that promotion with an office and you get the recognition, even if you only make 60k.(I know people that fit that mold also) People on the outside think "Wow, that person has to be making at least this(whatever number) much, they work in X office for X company" Not always the case, but you maintain a certain aura.
