Music (superstar) life cycle:
Grind and grind...make waves locally.
Come up with a big megahit that starts slow but builds momentum. Makes you "dat dude."
Cements superstar status and starts collaborating with everyone.
Continues big tours and puts out more hits.
Goes quiet for a bit to spend money, tour, enjoy the fruits.
Might come back with a few more major hits and proves he/she is not a fluke.
Starts branching out into other mediums...coincides with musical decline. Still popular but not the "it" thing anymore.
Still making moves and touring globally. Will always be loved and recognized but seen as "the past".
Dude hit the big time when I was in 6th or 7th grade. I'm 34 years old now. There have been like 2 generations in hip hop AT LEAST during that time frame. It would be like expecting the Temptations to be #1 in 1990 after being top shelf in the 60s/70s.
