#1 wasn't directed at KRS-One. But KRS-One want to use it as fuel to create a rap beef.

timeline sounds accurate enough, but how did Nelly start it? #1's a generic ass song about haters. The real hip-hop/flop line is also generic. Could be said about anyone who was hating on Nelly.

KRS interrepting it as a diss is all on him.

that's how it actually sorta played out. I remember Kris was penning editorials/making statements about clear'em out saying it wasn't a diss/response.

I saw the interviews and read the articles because Im a fan of the brothers music, and what he has contributed to hip hop. The headlines are def sensational, I have no issue with asking for evidence or saying I dont want to get into gossip or scandal. If someone asked me about my 40 year homeboy and I didn't KNOW what happened Id be like pass as well, honestly I would just say no comment. Many a good man been caught out there and sitting in a cell now over accusations.. I do not agree with his comment on being above reproach.

I guess I take issue with the rules constantly changing, and cancel culture. Cats be wearing and bigging up Versace, Dolce, and other well known brands and they are well known botty boys. Wont cancel them but will cancel their own. Its weird and I know that goes into the psyche of our folks and trickery we ingest.

This being said if Bam did that I cant rock with him, but I wont not like Hip Hop, just like if KRS actually said I defend pedophilia Id take the same stance. I rock with his music but not what he is standing for. Shhhhh Nelly had an issue for a sec with some young girl or something that went away.

If this is the actual timeline, how could you conclude that Nelly didn’t start it? Either he started it with #1 and KRS responded or he started it with Roc The Mic and KRS responded.

#1 wasn’t a diss record. It was just a general statement and if he’s talking about sales (at the time) it was a fair statement to make.

Krs a legend n all but Nelly got him. Like no Nelly not some super lyrical rapper by any stretch or wouldn't be referred about his bars. He got Krs tho, he used his status to make a joke outta Krs plus it helped Krs came across as being pretty. Add in the dopeness of the roc tha mic beat, he just gotta hold that L.
