Its shamefull how many people in here think Georgetown was popular because of Iverson. Big East hoops was massive and combined with Georgetown being the defacto black team run by John Thompson, that's how you get so much Georgetown love back then.
You gotta remember this was before you could see any and every college team on tv. You couldn't see much outside your local market but you could see Big East basketball, Notre Dame football, the Bulls on WGN and the Braves on TBS.
