A successful Black coach in what used to referred to as chocolate city (DC). John Thompson and Nolan Richardson were the only really successful Black coaches of that era that I can remember off the top of my head.

It also helped having guys like Iverson, So Mourning, Ewing, and all those guys.

That school was like what I would envision as a Black folks version of what Duke, UNC, and the Kentucky's of the world are now.
