Unicron is not at all a factor
Etc.
You should at least give the latter day stuff a try, i.e. More Than Meets The Eye and Transformers Vol. 2 (formerly known as Robots In Disguise)

She spent most of her time trying to hunt down the guy who did it to her, but he left Cybertron a while ago
This is just in regards to Cybertron - on other Transformer colony worlds, gender is not a big deal
