The feel good ninetees of the clinton era..brothers getting money in the streets and corporate gigs

brothers. Didnt feel militant no more

and then u had God Kalim publicly embrace the BLOODS presence in NYC
i knew that was a bad idea....when i read it in the Power Paper coming out of the school of mecca

and most of your older gods werent hands on with the youth anymore

so the youth found other paths

economics and assimlation caused me to stray..

economics definitly caused me to stray..but the lessons are still more relevent than that bullshyt coming out of the church..mosque.and synogogue

cause A.L.L.A.H taught me YOU ARE ACCOUNTANLE FOR SELF

The basically self destructed. Funny, cause there are no bboys or 5%ers of the Millennial generation (Gen Y) and more of the 90s babies are white-washed as it is.

It's hard to grow when your core base is popularized by crack dealers who just came out of prison and claim they got knowledge of self. But if you got knowledge of self then why you still pushing crack? Oh I get it, you selling to the 85% percent because they dumb dead and blind.

Clarence 13x wasnt a dealer :rudy:
nor did he sell drugs under Malcolm X

the 5% was started by a Malcolm X pupil

Never said that breh. I was referring to those who popularized it in the 90s. The dope selling rapper with knowledge of self, whose still serving fiends and smoking weed. It's like a walking oxymoron. Then again most religions become caricatures of what their original intentions were.

Strong parallel netwern the demise of hip hop and the 5% nation

basically Nas summed it up best in the song I WANNA TALK TO YOU

"We wanna be part of the establishment!"

Basically gods like myself and b boys and rappers wanted to be in the mainstream

and once i got my corporatr gig and had a family i got content just like hip hop and Nas he talked about evil empires like Def Jam but then when ahead and signed to them

So i cant really say the Nation self destricted...people just have selfish motives like myself

Cause at the end pf the day its EACH ONE TEACH ONE

and i should still be out there dropping science

:manny: very true.

Clarence x was murked in 69, so you are correct about it spinning into something different.
the 5% was so gun ho on fixing the youth, but all it did was give some thugs a sense of forgiveness so they wont feel guilty to keep doing that bad shyt they do. idk.

Look at the 90s babies that are now grown and think that they white. Ever since Wayne blew up with that Dipset style, all the black kids want to be skateboarders, wear rockstar clothing, and listen to music outside of traditional rap and R & B. Basically a people without a culture. Even black entertainment and media fell off around the mid 00s when that rockstar lifestyle merged with the commercial rap lifestyle.

That's what concerned me the most. I just remember during that time the most feared dudes on the block were 5%ers. Cats with names like insight, or Wise Allah who were out on the block pushing poison, but in the next breath building about today's mathematics. Funny thing was at the time I looked up to these dudes. They smoked weed, packed guns, had knowledge of self...they just seemed like they were put on to something that I hadn't found. Only looking back do I realize how foul some, not all, of these dudes were. You can't contribute to the poisoning of a community and talk about how you want to uplift it. That's some nino brown shyt.

Pretty much. Even back then, the 5%ers done mad dirt, but want to clean their hands and say that they can uplift the people they destroy. The humble, black intellectual is by far the most hated individual in the community.

Assimilation......

Where as whites ran to the suburbs in the 80s

Most blacks like my friends parents moved to the suburbs in the 90s

that sent droves of black teachers and professionals to jersey and conneticut

or in atl way out to gwinett and cobb county

so these kids experiences are more consumer driven and white washed

and it happen over night..my black neighborhood was left with renters and section 8 single moms and dboys and crackheads

while the black homeowners ran to the suburbs

and at the same time Clinton comes to harlem along with regentification all around the home of the 5% nation

So its no wonder the 5% Nation was less influental

They did a smear campaign on Clarence X.. when he was killed in 69, the 5% nation went in a different direction.

Seems like the black youth of today are like Drake or the other extreme like Chief Keef. Well, at least it is better than the superthug lifestyle that was popular 10-15 years ago.
