Why did the Dipshyts think they could take on Jay-Z and Nas?

Public Enemy, Outkast, NWA, ATCQ, Bone, and Wu to name a few are legends.

Dipset were like the hip-hop equivalent of some metal hair band that had a good run in the late 80’s.
It’s not a competition they are legendary in their own right.

Rap was in a weird place during that time. Labels were trying to attach themselves to the next big movement.

Interesting that no dipset fans mention that cam and dipset were scared shytlist of that ether. And did what they figured everything they could to not get murdered by NaS this is out of killa Cam’s mouth.
They felt the Ether nap all bomb was coming and wanted to bomb first because they didn’t expect to survive a NaS response and truthfully they didn’t. When NaS brought them pressure a year later dipset was fractured had inviting and juelz was trying to make skull gang with some bum Ass nikkas and Jim jones was getting merked by max B an Stack bundles was dead while Cam was taking care of HIS family in exile.
They did the right thing and they still have not recovered.

Nas said something concerning Cam in one of his infamous radio rants(of included his name with a bunch of other rappers, j forgot exactly what happened) and Jay beef was obvious from the Roc-A-Fella situation. That was added clout to a group that already had clout and was playing with house money in both situations, especially jays. Dip set was extra disrespectful type of group anyway

Nah you using that term legend way too loosely if you consider Dipset legendary. That's like calling the Lob City Chris Paul/Blake Griffin Clippers a legendary NBA team:mjlol:
Coli in bizarro world as usual.

They a legendary group period. They pioneered fashion, lingo, technology in hip-hop, the street DVD game, the mixtape game, got a classic group album, have solid solos between them, have a whole umbrella of people that came out of them (Karen Civil, A$AP Yams, Vado, Max B, Stack Bundles, etc.), did movies and reality TV, Cam’ron is a damn pop culture icon at this point.

Their DNA is still all over the game. This Chrome Hearts shyt all these rappers are wearing Juelz and Jim was doing that 15 years ago. These BB Simon belts? Juelz and Jim was doing that 15 years ago.

Drake name drops Juelz and drops a song named after their first album :heh:

YFN Lucci drops a Dipset inspired video :heh:

The name ‘dipset’ or ‘diplomats’ didn’t mean shyt outside of the internet as soon as the year 2003 ended. The ‘buzz’ for them came from Cam’ron signing with Rocafella. That’s it. How did Diplomatic Immunity 2 do?
:duck::duck::duck::duck:
And you're clearly a Jay dikkrider who never liked them from jump, just like the others who are either Jay, Nas or 50 stans making shyt up. They didn't even peak out by then. It's okay to not fukk with em, but y'all ain't gotta lie to prove a point breh :comeon:
As others stated, we know for a fact who was out there in the streets and who simply kept computers putin by this thread.

L.O.X., Dipset, G-Unit ran the streets in the 2000’s.

true

Nas hasn’t had a hit since 2002

false.

Posting Nas record sales means nothing he was a legend with big label backing and he was only going Gold with those albums mid to late 2000’s.

wait what? :dahell:

camron had major backing by rocafella tho

also nas went platinum with multiple singles and albums back then

FALSE

Culturally they wasn’t touching the impact of Dipset in that era that’s just facts.

the problem is your conflating culture and a brand name

dipset lacks culture. they were a harlem fad for a few years. strong brand but wearing bandanas and baggy clothes aint it

also rockin pink but sayin no homo?

spraying men with champagne in slow motion ? no homo

snitching? running from beef? public gangbanging/flagging?

Dipset built their own legacy that lasts to this day.

Y’all need to stop deifying these dudes lol. Nas dissed Cam first for no reason too.

FALSE

Camron built dipset. been screamin it and puttn nggaz on since the 90s.

Nas didnt diss Cam'Ron. he said his album was weak/wack which it was

S.D.E. retail and bootleg take a sh!t over come home with me.

dipset built they legacy off rocafella and big label backing.

the minute they beefed wit jayz they died a horrible death.

Breh, Dipset became so big, they had the biggest act going at the time in Lil Wayne biting their style, openly claiming blood and pretty much just short of calling himself a member. Just as you said, Dipset had the streets locked and heavily influenced.

dipset showed love to the south early on hence waynes love for them

aside from the fact camron was already an established new york act since the 90s

dipset had the streets locked from 02 to 07. crazy five year run.

I think the mistake they made was going at 50/G-Unit

Incorrect

Cam battled g unit alone. jim and juelz became traitors and sided with 50 durin the beef

thas truly when dipset died.

also terror squad and d-block since jae hood and remy martin showed up wit juelz and jim

What type of history rewrite bullshyt is this? Dipset were crazy popular in their prime. "They weren't as big as Jay and Nas in the 90s", but we talking about the 00s. Once Jay and Nas fell off the next big thing were Dipset and G-Unit.

Jayz and Nas never fell off, they continued to create music and sell records.

Camron never fell off, he continued to create music and sell records.

Not on the same level as them two but still. They all flourished.

What did not was they crews. Dipset, bravehearts and the roc all fell apart by the mid 00

No one in their right mind thinks Dipset holds much weight in 2020.

By 2008 they were a shadow of their former selves.

It's weird to see anyone propping up the corpse of dipset and saying
they actually mattered while two actual legends are still getting burn in the year 2020.

That’s not false Nas hasn’t had an RIAA certifies or top 40 single since 2002. He has not had a hit record since 2002. Anything you post will be reaches and attempts that flopped.

Come Home With Me isn’t wack by any means lol. And Nas saying that is disrespectful so yeah he definitely started it.

I broke down the influence of Dipset in my post above. It’s a legendary group B-R just threw hoodies out Knicks and Dipset collab with their logos on it. Cam just got namedropped and they had white boy on Power wearing a pink fur like Cam just two, three weeks ago. Dipset had an impact and it’s still a culturally relevant brand.
