Pushkin's great-grandfather was African, but he actually lived in Europe (after being stolen by the Ottomans from Africa, and "gifted" to the Russian tsar).

I highly doubt a visibly African person, much less one from the colonies, would be accepted to study in universities in Europe at the time. Maybe I'm wrong, can you provide any such examples?
Why would you highly doubt it? Alexander Pushkin himself was visibly black.

I would but I can't find any, I dunno why :snoop: they must've deleted everything.

But I swear I had a convo with that woman I mentioned in my first post and she said that.

For black people? Simon bolivar was black and even Gabriel Garcia Marquez said it and mentioned how they muddled his image.

I was speaking with a sister today and she was putting me onto game about some good books and I put her onto Selassie. She told me, BC her FAM is Caribbean, that she studied in Venezuela, and if you go to their national library they have real depictions of simon bolivar (the liberator of south america) as a black man, but there's controversy around it and if you look online its mainly white pictures of him.

But I think they, meaning white people, try to hide black history because there's power in it.

When you see those white dudes as heads of Native American orgs..

AA's gonna fukk up and end up having Tupac be the greatest white rapper in a dashiki :skip:

Here you go.

Simón Bolivar was a Crióllo with a few drops of Indian and African blood and proud of it. He was born in Caracas into Venezuela's plantation society and into wealth, and in his late teens he enjoyed leisure in Europe. He was influenced by liberalism and the Enlightenment and acquired an admiration for Napoleon. In the year 1810, with Spain's KIng Ferdinand being held by Napoleon in luxurious captivity, Bolivar was back in Venezuela supporting Venezuela's pro-independence junta and at 27 having outgrown his youthful frivolity. The junta sent Bolivar back to Europe as the head of a delegation aiming at international support for independence. He returned in 1811 unsuccessful but with Venezuela's leading dissident, a vain revolutionary, Francisco de Miranda, who had been in exile in England.

Black People, you don't need to claim every mythical figure as Black...History is bullshat...There are probably billions of years ahead us, and Simon Bolivar will not matter...

But you have the opportunity to do great things today so YOU can become the "Black Simon Bolivar" for future Black people to admire, and if you do it right, your story will not be White washed...

Don't you get it?

Nobody is claiming anything mythical, and definitely not claiming everything.

And I don't care about the billions of years ahead of us, without your past you're nothing and I'm acknowledging the realities of the past.

Don't worry about my legacy, worry about yours. This is something I deem important, denounce what you feel is unimportant, but do it in your own space.
