I'd say Vince moved on because the gimmick had a very limited shelf life especially when you consider hip hop related wrestling gimmicks in the WWE, but had I been asked in 1990 or 1997 I'd have said Undertaker/Kane both were on borrowed time too gimmick wise too, I mean a big dead ghoul and a spin off? The whole rapper gimmick started as a joke character that got over.

Fans turned on him when he was transitioning between Chain Gang and Marine Cena. Rapper Cena was pretty much phased out completely in late 2005.
