Hell no he couldn't have met him halfway. It's amusing to me how people love to act as if Austin wasn't a good wrestler. Yes. His character was very strong, but he also could go and he wasn't going to slow himself down for the sake of Hogan. As I have said, he acknowledges that a lot of money could have been made, but he did not want to do the match.

I know you limp dikk Hogan fans are mad as hell, but you're just going to have to #DealWithIt.

Also for clarification @Ayo!-BEZ - you keep saying that I am making 'excuses' but my initial comments came from a recent interview Austin did with Jim Ross. Now as a fan, Austin vs Hogan isn't a match that I was clamoring for, because I do think their styles wouldn't have meshed well. Doesn't mean that I don't realize the money that could have been made, but as a fan I'd rather watch something that I would really enjoy.

If Austin cared so much about match quality why the hell did he face Vince Mcmahon? It's to bad he wasn't as picky in picking shytty movies as he was in picking matches. If Austin was never gonna face Hogan he never should have teased the match at the hall of fame.

It probably should've happened eventually but Rock was the right choice at WMX8. Austin had no steam at all after the Invasion minus WHAT? Rock was the #1 guy.

this.

plus the rock was a bigger name than austin.

hogan & rock are the 2 all-time biggest names to the general public. people forget about that. alot of outside outlets wouldnt have covered it like they did if rock wasnt in the match.

You know what, never mind. I will say though, that I am not your ex so while I'm sure there were instances when she stood on the back of her legs doing a back and forth squabble with you, eh after seeing your emotional state, I'd rather not.

Good Day/Night.

This. It was clear near the end of Austin's career that Rock was the #1 guy at that time. They were still both the top dogs, but Rock was a little ahead. They went back and forth throughout their career.
