Why didn't Craig David ever go mega?

This cat had everything. Excellent vocalist/singer, good performer, solid lyrics, great first album, good looking cat(No homo). Yet after around 2002 he suddenly dropped off and was never to be heard of again. Now a days he goes around the world Djing. What went wrong?

Sade is British. Adele is British. Beatles are British. A lot of the biggest selling artists of all time in the U.S are British. His accent and shyt def didn't hurt his popularity with women which his music was directed towards at all.

What happened was between 'Born to do it' & his other album Grime made UK garage irrelevant on the 'urban' scene over here so he assimilated into the American R&B scene even more heavily & his generic R&B got lost in the pack.
