Fighter, I think.

I played Strider at first.

Warning, later in the game it's wise to level up a ranged class like Strider. A lot of stuff in Bitterblack Isle can kill you in one hit.

I went with Magick Archer, which is probably the best job in the game.

(a) I don't get the comparison between Souls and DD at all, they are two very different games and (b) outside of the combat and the pawn system DD is kind of :ld: to me.

It didn't nail its world, atmosphere and aesthetic nearly as well as Dark Souls did. I'm playing through it right now and while the gameplay is great, the character models, dialogue and cutscenes are trash. The world itself is bland and has nowhere near as much character as Dark Souls. Also the game was a technical mess. 25fps and black bars.

The PC version is doing really well though and I think Dragon's Dogma 2 could be where the series takes off and becomes a big success.

This. The world is so important in RPG's and I really didn't feel engrossed in it. I think part of that was the fact there were only like 2 towns. They also made travel REALLY hard in the early goings. No characters, not really a good story, but great gameplay.

It also had the misfortune of being a post-Skyrim medieval game :manny:

This game, brehs. Atleast now I can admit Skyrim is too boring.

Just got killed by an ambush of a bunch of big goblins and a damn dragon :damn:

I know exactly where you're talking about. :mjlol:

Side note, if you upgrade your gear and kill a dragon it has a chance to Dragonforge it, which boosts it even more. The higher the upgrade (1, 2, or 3 stars) the bigger chance it is.
