On the real, I liked all Soul Caliburs except four :scusthov:

One, two and five are the best gameplay wise. Three was the best overall content wise but gameplay was hella broken if you wanted to play competitively, that's why they released the arcade edition long after the console one simply cuz the had to rebalance hella shyt. If only five had the content three had :ohlawd:

basically part 2 and beyond became a button masher dream....but I don't care what buttons a nikka mash, on part one, he was passing the controller
If you were playing SC V online when it was poppin, trust and believe you'd know button mashing would get you wrecked :stopitslime:

The FGC is full of hating nikkas and stans, they'll call something trash without having any sort of reason or agenda for doing so, only because they refuse to learn a new game.

I ask this question to everyone who makes this statement:

"Do you /play/ fighting games?"

3D fighting games do not last long in the FGC

Ding. There we go. The 3D genre has never been popular in America. Japan/Korea? Yes, but otherwise it has been dead due to the (Tekken) scene either not showing up or the developer (Namco) not nourishing it's scene enough to live longer.

In the case of Soul Calibur V -- which I believe is the best game in the series due to the way the game's designed -- it released with no hype/marketing behind it as an afterthought in comparison to how Tekken Tag 2 was being advertised. Limited play during development time, no feedback from the scene to the developers--it was just a big mess and the fact that the single player component since IV has been nerfed to hell it was essentially a joke.

You see high level SCV play sometime but the game dropped dead in the water. Which is a shame. Developers can't rely on playerbase to see a long life in their game. They HAVE to do work as well. Capcom learned. NRS learned. Iron Galaxy learned. Arc System Works learned.

Namco doesn't give a damn about the american Tekken/SC scene. Shame because what I've played of TK7, it was fukking amazing.

Contrary to popular belief Dead or Alive 5 is a REALLY GOOD fighting game that's shytted on because people are incapable of looking past the fanservice to see a competitively viable game.

Yeah, its definitely a decent fighter. Theyve refined a lot of the mechanics, the learning curve isnt as steep as most games and its simply fun as hell. I got DOA 5 LR the other day and thats the best DOA Ive played since hardcore.

Anyways, I gotta ps3:mjcry:, but if anyone wants to see me in DOA, SCV, SC II HD, Guilty Gear XRD, Blazblue Chronophantasma, Ultra SFIV, or SFII HD Remix, TEvans309 :demonic:

It's tough because Soul Calibur was basically perfect in it's first iteration (Soul Calibur 2 was just as good). Sould Calibur from 3 on out was trash, imo, and it never regained it's former glory. If they don't get 6 right the Franchise is as good as dead.
