Why didn't the 2007 Miami Heat repeat?

I have no recollection of the 2007 Heat at all

the sad thing about this thread is most of the band wagon heat fans won't be able to post in here.

essentially the major contributors to the champioship last season fell off at the same time. our 06 team wasn't built for the long term. we had gary payton, alonzo mournin, and shaq. all of them old as fukk. the rest of the imporant role players were just examples of fukkery all around.

Literally everyone that won the championship in 2006 were and out of shape coming to training camp and were old as fukk. Wade was hurt and his jumper fell the fukk off. They were too old, and had a short window with Shaq. They should have made it to the 05 Finals but Wade got hurt. Plus, its a bit harder to win when the ref's aren't on your side. Deng went the fukk off on the Heat and had his best year ever. But, I do blame Riley though for the way he constructed the roster after the postseason, should have gotten younger, and he literally stole a ring from Van Gundy as coach.

That was the year wade dislocated his shoulder (or something along those lies) and tried to come back early to gut it out for the playoffs, but it was obvious he was still fukked up and didn't have the same confidence in his handles or explosiveness to be what he was in '05 or '06. thats actually the first time i remember sefolosha in the nba b/c he was the one assigned to guard wade and wade's handles were looking extra weak against thabo... this after seeing 2+ years of wade cutting up tayshaun prince and everyone else in playoff bball.

Once i saw that happening, i knew they were going to get stomped. In general, Wade would've had to play like he did in the '06 ECFs & Finals all over again for the Heat to make it back and dude was clearly done in when that shoulder thing happened.

i don't know about that. them cats were not motivated for stan. shaq was being diva-ish about it too. they were at something like .500 when pat pulled him. not so sure they would have played up to their potential without pat coaching.

I don't even remember Wayne Simien. Dude only played 2 seasons with the Heat, and was out the league after 06. And I honestly forgot Dorrell Wright and Jason Kapono was on that championship team too.
Has to be the most and worst championship team of the decade.
