If Chris Paul wasn't hurt then it would have made some sense, but the problem is Joe Johnson has no athleticism left in him and he isn't reliable enough from 3 to be a spot up shooter anymore. Plus he is a defensive sieve something the Ariza still brings to the table despite his inconsistency on offense.

Atleast joe can create and take some pressures off of harden. Plus when joe had his moment tucker cut to the basket and joe hit him for a layup. I see no reason why joe can't make passes and allow harden to rest.

Basically once he went to the Rockets they rarely needed him so he didn't play so to play him more than he did in that series made him a higher risk of injures for not having his basketball legs
So what? This is the playoffs win or go home. Obviously he should've been used more. He actually should been installed in the game plan for 6&7 since Paul was out injured. He's one of the only guys on their team that has proven himself in the playoffs. They missed 27 straight 3s, they should've tried anything else.

He's was ass all year...

40 FG% 28 3FG%

Plus he can't guard anybody...

They didn't even play Ryan Anderson and he gets paid 20 million a year...
That was likely the reason and his points weren’t going to offset what he’d likely had given up,
