i own LB's albums.

Phonte's addressed it before.

it's pretty much the same reason why J.Cole isn't respected.

Both are from North Carolina. Same place where Petey Pablo had a little run for 3-4 years.

However their beats and sound is in the vein of Common, Tribe Called Quest, Pete Rock etc.

LB need to stop bullshytting and re-unite. I love Phontes foreign exchange shyt, but ain't nothing like that LB shyt.

cause its the south

You probably think I walk around with my gun tuck and
Swang dikk to these hoes like nunchucks
Well, you can think what you want but
I think you've been watching too much BET: Uncut
You need to get real and check out my real life
I ain't a tip-drill, don't care what it smell like
But if you feel like putting all your notions aside
And talking to a real nikka, I'd gladly oblige
First name Phonte, I'd be pleased to date ya
College educated, got degrees in papers

But I'm from the South where if you ain't snapping
Or rapping bout trapping you's a freak of nature

Such an anomaly, speak so well
And talk so collegy, such an astonishing
Contrast to all the bullshyt you've been following
On behalf of them, I offer my apologies
Maybe with me you'll unlearn
Putting all nikkas in a box of concerns
Me, cause I ain't dumb, shyt I'm well read like sunburn
And after me you'll never leave no stone unturned

from the home of coca-cola, i'm not referring to s
Yall put that garbage out tho.

Outkast cant get back in the studio soon enough for me.

Im tired of the c00n shyt.

Since yall runnin the game, yall need to support the dope artists down there.

Yea, nikkas put out garbage in every region too, but that shyt wouldn't have went mainstream with out NY.. Lets keep it 100. The shyt blew up because nikkas outside ATL hopped on it

they were pigeonholed by major labels.
trying to limit the reach and control of the pigeon holded artist surrounding the underground and so-called emo.
so, they could capitalize on taking the draw for themselves.
after a discovery zone, and applied knowledge to give atmosphere major label distribution.

i could pose this question for any and everyone of my contemporaries in the underground.

did they rep for the south?

serious question too cause i didn't listen to their music that much. but assuming they didn't rep for the south hard, why would the south go hard for them?

They were too early.

Sucks, cause theyre just as interesting and marketable as a J Cole or Big KRIT, but the game wasnt ready...

They dropped at the height of the "ringtone era" (sounds so fukking stupid saying that, in hindsight). Justus League, MURS, Louis Logic and a lot of the dudes that used to have albums for sale on Sandbox Automatic 10 years ago couldve been something bigger in this era if they promoted their drug use publicly and put on a sillyass hat or T-shirt every now and then

Musically, lyrically, they were doing the same shyt.

you know why breh.....and I fukked with LB.
Why?

because they didn't make music that appealed to anyone outside of their core listeners?

I like LB as well, but just because artist are great and can music in their on little Box doesn't mean they should blow up.

Its what makes Jay z so great, but that another thread
