Why do adults lie to kids/teenagers that there’s such thing as the “real world” and that it gets better after high school.

The popular kids get to work on all the cool shyt get the easy jobs etc.


While the nerdy / un popular pushover dudes actually got to earn their keep and are the first to get fired

Don’t we normally say the “real world” is harder and to enjoy high school and college because it’s generally the easiest and most fun time you’ll have. That’s what I tell my children. And I tell them if you want to be able to enjoy life as an adult there’s a level of work you’re going to have to put in to be successful. Otherwise life will be stress and bills.

I’m also convinced forums draw in a certain demographic of slightly socially awkward people. So there’s that. No one uses forums anymore in 2022.

high school was trash and of course there are some immature grown folks out here. i'm just glad i work in the utmost professional of professions where people just want to do their job and get paid damn well to do so, so it's def better than being a broke ass student
